Mokkipaja is like a team building on a company. It happens at least once every semester in Proakatemia. Each team will rent a cabin and it is usually on a quiet country road. This is my second Mokkipaja in Proakatemia. The first one was when I was in Fusee and now with my new team, Trame/Crevio. Our mock workshop lasted for 3 days and 2 nights.

The purpose of this is to help the team to communicate more effectively by encouraging team members to share their ideas and goals for the team and also to build rapport on each of the team members. Each one of us shared our learning contracts or what we called “pechakucha”.x` I really like this activity during the workshop for us to know each other more and also to build trust to one another. It will be very beneficial when you are building a team to build trust for you to communicate openly and honestly, and that you would know that you got each other’s back and support each other. Most of us came from different countries around the globe. We are really a diverse team and have different cultures and beliefs. What we also did in our mokkipaja is that “mokkipaja organizers” assigned people who will cook our meals each day. By doing this, it gave us a chance to know everyone’s culture and eating the special foods in their home countries. It also gave us meaningful interactions knowing our differences and similarities. During night time, we played card games which one of our team members brought during mock workshop. On this activity, it helps us to test our creativity, competitiveness, and we are Laughing out loud and just having fun in general. We also grilled sausages and corns while listening and dancing to finish songs during our last night in the cabin. We had so much fun and knowing the culture at the same time. Overall, mock workshop is important because it Fosters team togetherness, which can lead us to more effective collaboration, better communication, and a Stronger team culture. I look forward to our next mock workshop.
