“If you are the smartest person in the room, you are in the wrong room.”
Entrepreneurial mindset. I love this saying. To me it represents the fact that the person having this mindset understands and respects people having their own business. People are not born with this mindset, people grow into this mindset. For some people it might be the influence from their parents, a friend or just someone running a business.
Since I started my own business, I have many times wondered why everyone would not open their own business. What makes people decide what work they will do? It is very interesting topic. Why people choose to work for someone, instead of operating something of their own. It might be that you are not sure what you want to do, or you have not found the thing that makes you happy. It might be that you just settle for the easy life. Or it might be you actually like to work for someone and do not see anything wrong with that. I used to work for large corporation and used to think that being in the lead position would be enough for me. But since I got to taste the freedom of being an entrepreneur trough my spouse’s company, it would be very difficult to imagine to work for anyone else anymore. But you should never say never. I have learned that life does not always go the way you imagined, so be prepared for anything.
Entrepreneurial mindset requires hard work, never giving up, always wanting more attitude, and handling a lot of responsibility. It eats up all your free time especially in the beginning. It might cause you nervous breakdowns and put you on the edge. You must believe in yourself. Doubt can be your biggest enemy. If you start to doubt yourself, your business idea or your abilities it might let your dream die already before you tried it out.
It is scary, it might be terrifying to start. To start with your business idea. Latest when you face your first obstacles, you might back down. The stress might be too much for you. But just relax, enjoy the journey and trust the process. Believe in your ideas and in yourself. Think about the motivation for you. Is it to make the world a better place or is it to provide better life for yourself and your family?
Stop making up excuses and take the lead. If you want to learn something, stop watching Netflix every night and use that time to practice your skill. You are responsible of your own actions. No one else will do the work for you. Nobody was born with skills to speak in front of an audience, they learned how to do it. Be open to learn new skills every day. Seek information from the internet, from people you meet and read books. Every new idea you get, most likely someone has already done it. This is so annoying, it might feel like the whole world is stealing your ideas. But don’t be disappointed, but see what they have done and could you do it better or with a new twist? The trick is to never give up. Reach for your dreams. XO
